What does biochemistry mean?

Biochemistry is the study of the chemical processes that happen in living things—like how our bodies use food for energy, how cells grow and repair, and how different substances help us stay healthy. Imagine your body is like a factory, with tons of tiny machines (cells) that each have a job to keep you running. Biochemistry is about understanding how those machines work together by using different chemicals, like proteins, fats, and vitamins, to keep you healthy.

As a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P), I use biochemistry to understand what’s going on inside your body. By looking at special lab tests, I can see if certain parts of your “factory” need extra support, like if you need more nutrients or if stress is affecting your energy levels. This helps me guide you to the best lifestyle changes or supplements to help your body work at its best!
